A cutting-edge energy manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Equipment Engineer to support the ramp-up and optimization of production operations. This hands-on role sits within the Operations Engineering team and focuses on equipment ownership, performance improvement, and cross-functional collaboration in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of manufacturing equipment performance, reliability, and ongoing improvement initiatives
- Define and implement OEE and equipment performance metrics to surface loss drivers and guide prioritization
- Translate production data and downtime patterns into well-defined problem statements, project scopes, and action plans
- Lead equipment improvement projects spanning mechanical systems, tooling, fixturing, and station layout
- Develop and maintain CAD designs and drawings to deliver hardware solutions that address throughput, reliability, ergonomics, and quality
- Respond to production events using a root-cause, systems-level approach, coordinating mechanical, electrical, and controls remediation
- Actively participate in equipment installation, commissioning, and ramp activities including design reviews, factory acceptance tests, and site acceptance tests
- Optimize equipment parameters and station configurations in collaboration with production and quality stakeholders
- Provide direct floor-level support and establish standards that reduce recurring issues
- 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline
- Hands-on familiarity with industrial manufacturing equipment such as furnaces, web or powder handling systems, mixers, resistance welders, and laminators
- Demonstrated track record of equipment engineering within a production or manufacturing setting, including system ownership responsibility
- Strong troubleshooting ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and system-level issues under live production conditions
- Proven ability to collaborate across equipment, controls, manufacturing, quality, and operations functions to deliver results
- Proficiency in CAD software for developing mechanical and tooling designs
